APHC-AJK holds anti-India demo in Islamabad

Islamabad, August 05, 2021 (PPI-OT):The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, today, held an anti-India protest demonstration outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad on the occasion of Yaum-e-Istehsal.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the purpose of the demonstration was to record protest against the illegal and unilateral steps taken by the Modi-led fascist Indian government in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019. The Modi-led fascist Indian regime on this day in 2019 repealed Kashmir’s special status, divided it into two union territories and imposed military siege in the territory.

On both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) and the world over, Kashmiris are observing, today, Black Day against the Indian illegal actions in IIOJK while the Government of Pakistan has declared today as Yaum-e-Istehsal.

Addressing the protesters, Hurriyat leaders said the Modi regime’s action of abrogating Articles 370 and 35-A is unconstitutional, undemocratic and contrary to the basic principles of political values. They said, Modi’s move is also against the judicial authority because the issue of Article 370 is in the Indian Supreme Court. The Indian move to repeal the special status of the territory was also against the United Nations resolutions and international laws, they added.

The Hurriyat leaders said that India was trying to change the Muslim majority status in IIOJK into a minority, but Kashmiris would foil its nefarious designs. They said the Kashmiri people are rendering sacrifices for a great cause and it is due to these sacrifices that the Kashmir dispute is being discussed at international forum. They urged the United Nations and world human rights organizations to take notice of Indian measures of changing the demography of IIOJK and massive human rights violations by Indian troops in the occupied territory.
