APHC-AJK General Secretary Supports Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s Stance on Kashmir

Islamabad: Advocate Parvez Ahmad Shah, General Secretary of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, has expressed his support for the recent statements made by senior APHC leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq regarding the ongoing struggle in Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Advocate Parvez Ahmad Shah, addressing from Islamabad, highlighted the importance of the Kashmiri people’s sacrifices, which he stressed were not made for petty interests or the so-called electoral processes that fail to address the core of the Kashmir issue. He reiterated Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’s message that the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people over the past seven decades were aimed at a substantive struggle against oppression, not for participating in elections that do not lead to any resolution.

Advocate Shah emphasized that Farooq’s remarks serve as a reminder to the Kashmiri populace that they should not allow themselves to be used by oppressors. He pointed out the urgency for the Kashmiri people to remain united and continue their rights-based struggle to achieve a logical conclusion, which aligns with the resolutions passed by the United Nations regarding the territory.

Furthermore, Advocate Shah called on India to halt what he termed as “election drama” and urged the implementation of United Nations resolutions to bring about a resolution to the prolonged dispute in Kashmir. He insisted that only through adhering to these international resolutions can the conflict be rightfully settled.
