Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has finalized its preparations for the upcoming ‘Black Day’ protest on October 27 in Islamabad. The event marks the anniversary of the day when Indian troops occupied Jammu and Kashmir in 1947, an action that Kashmiris oppose.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC-AJK meeting, led by Information Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, convened to ensure all arrangements were in place for the protest. Leaders from various political, religious, and social organizations across Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir have been mobilized, including students from Liberation Cell and Sweet Home, among other groups.
The meeting also saw participation from prominent figures such as former convener Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Mian Muzaffar, Imtiaz Wani, Adeel Mushtaq, and Muhammad Ashraf Dar. Discussions focused on the longstanding conflict in the region, and the collective resolve to continue the freedom struggle despite significant challenges and sacrifices made by the Kashmiri people under Indian rule.
