This date memorializes the forcible entry and subsequent occupation of the region by Indian forces, resulting in the suppression of the local populace’s freedoms and democratic rights.
According to a news release by Kashmir Media Service, Participants, as documented by Kashmir Media Service, argued that this Indian action went against the principles underpinning the subcontinent’s partition, the Two Nation theory, and various domestic and global laws, acting counter to the desires of the Kashmiri community.
The gathered leaders highlighted the violent actions of the Indian forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir as paramount examples of state-sponsored terrorism. They voiced concerns regarding India’s alleged endeavors to alter the demographic makeup of IIOJK, asserting that the region’s inhabitants remain resolute against such initiatives.
Condemning recent episodes of state violence and extrajudicial activities against Kashmiri youth, Saghar reiterated the community’s unyielding commitment to pursuing their right to self-determination. He solicited the attention of international entities, including the United Nations, to recognize and respond to the grievances and challenges in IIOJK, promoting resolutions aligned with established United Nations decrees.
