Islamabad, The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC-AJK) chapter Convener, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, has expressed strong condemnation of the increased cordon and search operations and house raids in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, Saghar, in a statement issued from Islamabad, criticized the ongoing human rights violations, asserting that these actions demonstrate India’s intent to suppress the Kashmiri people. He stated that the tactics employed by the Indian government and its military cannot alter the disputed status of Kashmir, which is recognized internationally and backed by United Nations Security Council resolutions. These resolutions have consistently upheld the right to self-determination for the Kashmiri people.
Saghar emphasized that the unresolved Kashmir issue remains a significant obstacle to peace and prosperity in South Asia, attributing the region’s ongoing strife, poverty, and arms race to India’s inflexible stance on the matter. He also expressed grave concern over the escalation of state-sponsored terrorism by India in IIOJK.
In addition, the APHC-AJK Convener extended condolences and solidarity to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, whose aunt recently passed away in Srinagar.
