APHC-AJK Condemns Indian Forces’ Crackdown in IIOJK

Islamabad, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, a senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, has voiced deep concern over the crackdown conducted by Indian forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, Rehmani, in a statement made in Islamabad, condemned the arrest of civilians and relatives of martyred youth during cordon and search operations by Indian forces in the occupied territory. He criticized the Narendra Modi-led Indian government’s actions, which he described as efforts to change the demographic composition of IIOJK through a Hindutva settler plan. Rehmani accused the Modi regime of using brutal methods and a spying network to suppress the pro-freedom movement in the region.

In addition, Rehmani denounced the treatment of students at the National Institute of Technology Srinagar. He specifically referred to the recent arrests and harassment of students who protested against a derogatory video about the Holy Prophet (peace be upon Him), posted on social media by a Hindu student. Rehmani emphasized that such acts of desecration are intolerable to Muslims.

Furthermore, APHC-AJK Secretary Information, Imtiaz Wani, in a separate statement issued in Islamabad today, strongly condemned what he termed as the genocide of Kashmiris, illegal detentions, disgrace of women, and vandalism of houses and properties by Indian troops in IIOJK. Wani framed the Kashmir dispute as a matter of the Kashmiri people’s freedom from illegal Indian occupation. He highlighted the ongoing sacrifices made by Kashmiris in their struggle for self-determination, affirming that this struggle would continue until their goal is achieved.

The statements from APHC-AJK leaders reflect the heightened tensions and continued conflict in IIOJK, a region at the center of a long-standing dispute between India and Pakistan.
