Islamabad, The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has expressed strong condemnation over the confiscation of properties belonging to Hurriyat leaders in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir by India’s Enforcement Directorate (ED).

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, the APHC-AJK Convener, and Sheikh Abdul Mateen, the General Secretary, issued separate statements in Islamabad, denouncing the actions of the ED as part of the Indian government’s broader campaign to suppress legitimate political dissent in occupied Kashmir.

Saghar and Mateen criticized the Indian authorities for using property confiscation as a new tactic to intimidate Kashmiris who resist the policies of the Modi regime. They pointed out that such actions are designed to tarnish the image of Hurriyat leaders like Zafar Akbar Butt and Qazi Yasir, but emphasized that these attempts would not dissuade the Kashmiri people from their struggle for their rights and self-determination.

The leaders asserted that India’s strategy of oppression would not sustain its illegal control over Jammu and Kashmir indefinitely. They stressed the unwavering commitment of the Kashmiri people to continue their fight for freedom until it reaches a logical conclusion.

The APHC-AJK representatives called on the United Nations to intervene and resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with its pending resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people, highlighting the ongoing human rights and political challenges in the region.
