APHC-AJK Calls for Global Attention to Human Rights Situation in IIOJK

ISLAMABAD, On Human Rights Day, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has made a passionate appeal to the international community to acknowledge and address the dire human rights situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). They assert that the people in this region have been systematically deprived of their fundamental rights by India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC-AJK senior leader Ghulam Muhammad Safi stated that none of the 30 basic human rights listed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights are being upheld in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the harsh treatment of Kashmiris, including killings, torture, and humiliation, as they demand their right to self-determination in a territory recognized as disputed by the United Nations.

Senior leader Muhammad Farooq Rehmani criticized the apparent disregard of the United Nations’ commitment to human rights by some member states. He strongly condemned India’s policies in Jammu and Kashmir, including the extension of Indian laws, changing delimitation rules, issuing domicile certificates to Indian citizens, and seizing properties of native Kashmiris as part of efforts to alter the region’s demographic composition.

The worsening human rights conditions in Palestine were also condemned, with strong criticism of Zionist rulers and their supporters in the UN.

Other APHC-AJK leaders, including Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Altaf Hussain Wani, and several others, echoed these sentiments in their statements. They called upon global powers, nations, organizations, and individuals who uphold human rights and dignity, to support the Kashmiris’ struggle for their right to self-determination.

This collective voice from APHC-AJK aims to draw international attention to the ongoing human rights crisis in IIOJK and seeks support for the Kashmiri people’s quest for self-determination and justice.
