APHC-AJK Briefs Senator Allama Nasir Abbas on Current Situation in Jammu and Kashmir

Islamabad: A delegation from the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter visited Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, Chairman of Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen, at his residence in Satra Meel, Islamabad, to discuss the ongoing political and humanitarian issues in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, the delegation, led by Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi, highlighted the continued oppression faced by Kashmiris under Indian administration, including the arrest of Hurriyat leadership aimed at rendering the Kashmiri populace leaderless. The delegation asserted that India’s policies are designed to alter the demographic makeup of the region by issuing domicile certificates to non-Kashmiri residents, thus potentially converting the Muslim majority into a minority.

During the meeting, Ghulam Muhammad Safi called upon the United Nations and other global human rights organizations to intervene and resolve the longstanding Kashmir dispute in accordance with international resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas strongly condemned the reported brutalities, demographic manipulation, and killings in IIOJK, reaffirming his unwavering support for the Kashmiri freedom movement. He assured the delegation of Pakistan’s collective support across all political, social, and religious spectrums for Kashmir’s right to self-determination. Senator Abbas also confirmed his participation in the upcoming APHC protest on August 15 in Islamabad, aimed at drawing international attention to the issue.

The APHC-AJK delegation included notable figures such as Mir Tahir Masood, Altaf Hussain Wani, Dawood Khan Yousafzai, Mushtaq Ahmad Butt, Ijaz Rahmani, Chaudhry Shaheen, Zahid Ashraf, Syed Gulshan, and Abuzar Shawkat, each playing a significant role in international advocacy for Kashmir.
