APHC-AJK and KLC Mark Syed Ali Gilani’s Third Martyrdom Anniversary with Solemn Tributes

Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter and the Kashmir Liberation Cell (KLC) held a conference today to commemorate the third anniversary of the martyrdom of veteran Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the event saw the participation of numerous leaders and dignitaries, including Rana Qasim Noon, Chairman of the Kashmir Parliamentary Committee, who attended as the special guest. Throughout the conference, speakers honored Gilani’s enduring commitment to the Kashmiri freedom cause and his unwavering stance on Islamic principles until his demise.

The conference highlighted various facets of Gilani’s life and contributions, reiterating the resolve to pursue the right to self-determination as outlined in United Nations Security Council resolutions, dismissing any alternative solutions for the Kashmir dispute.

Further, the speakers expressed a staunch refusal to compromise on the right to self-determination, emphasizing it as the central issue. They also condemned the revocation of Kashmir’s special status by the Indian government on August 5, 2019, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration, and called for the immediate release of detained Hurriyat leaders including APHC Chairman Masarat Alam Butt among others.

An appeal was made to international human rights bodies to address the conditions faced by political detainees from Kashmir. The conference concluded with prayers for Syed Ali Gilani and all other martyrs of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, reflecting a continued commitment to their cause.

The conference was attended by a wide array of political and religious leaders from various organizations, demonstrating broad support for the Kashmiri self-determination movement and honoring Gilani’s legacy.
