APHC Accuses Indian Government of Repression in Kashmir

Srinagar, The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has issued a strong condemnation of the Indian government’s tactics in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including property seizures and an ongoing arrest spree, describing these actions as a brutal repression of the Kashmiri people. The APHC claims that these measures are a response to the local resistance against what it views as an illegal occupation by India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas stated that the Modi government’s actions, particularly the confiscation of properties, are part of a political vendetta aimed at subjugating the Hurriyat leadership, activists, and the Kashmiri populace. Minhas argued that despite India’s use of force and intimidation to quash the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination, the local population remains resolute in their pursuit of freedom.

Minhas further noted that the tactics employed by the Indian government have not only failed to suppress the spirit of freedom among Kashmiris but have also led to a situation where they are being made strangers in their own land. He emphasized that the sacrifices made by lakhs of people in the ongoing freedom movement inspire continued resistance against all odds.

The APHC called on the international community to abandon its double standards, take notice of the situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and apply pressure on New Delhi to address and resolve the Kashmir dispute responsibly.
