Islamabad, February 03, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Apex Committee has expressed determination to protect life and property of the people at every cost and make an example out of the terrorists who shed blood of Pakistanis. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired the meeting held in Peshawar on Friday. The committee assured the nation that those who attacked innocent Pakistanis, would be punished and the government would come up to the expectations of the nation.
The meeting reviewed, in detail, the incidents of terrorism, particularly the suicide attack on the mosque in Police Lines Peshawar on January 30 and its aftermath. The officials of the intelligence agencies briefed the participants about the overall security situation and the action taken against the terrorists.
The participants prayed for the elevation of ranks of martyrs in Jannah and for grant of patience and fortitude to the bereaved families and for early recovery of the injured. Presiding over the meeting of apex committee Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif emphasized unity among all provinces to jointly fight the menace of terrorism.
He said the federal government will extend maximum support in strengthening the Counter Terrorism Department and police of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to help it better fight terrorism. He urged all the political leaders to set aside political differences as this is the time to get united for the greater national cause.
Meanwhile, the Sindh government has also announced a compensation package of one million rupees for the each martyr and five-hundred thousand rupees for the each injured of the Police Lines Peshawar blast. The announcement was made by Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah during his visit to Lady Reading hospital in Peshawar today where he enquired about the health of the blast victims.
