Anti-encroachment drive in IIOJK part of Modi’s project to deprive people of their land

Srinagar, February 04, 2023 (PPI-OT):The so-called anti-encroachment drive in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), is part of Modi’s project to dispossess people of their land and properties. The political experts and analysts in their interviews and statements in Srinagar said the recent anti-encroachment drive is part of illegal process which started with stripping of IIOJK’s special status in August 2019. They said evicting local people from the lands which have been under their possession for generations is meant to colonize Kashmir. Modi’s land grab drive is aimed at diluting Muslim-majority character of the territory, they added.

They said the land eviction drive in IIOJK is yet another manifestation of the colonial-settler mind-set of the Modi regime. They said the land eviction campaign in the name of anti-encroachment drive in the territory is Modi regime’s another weapon to persecute the Kashmiris. The political experts and analysts were of the view that the anti-encroachment drive in IIOJK was meant to make Kashmiris strangers within their own lands, adding that Modi is introducing one after another laws in the territory to change the demography of the territory. They said the United Nations must act swiftly to stop fascist Modi from implementing his colonial settler project in the occupied territory.
