Jaipur, August 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):A Dalit boy sustained injuries in his head after he was beaten up by his teacher in Barmer city in the Indian state of Rajasthan. The Dalit boy, who is a student of Class 7, had left out a question during a test, following which his teacher allegedly beat him and slammed him against the wall, his brother – also a student of Class 7 at the same school – said. He was taken home with an injury to his head, unconscious. The parents then admitted him to the hospital.
The teacher, Ashok Mali, has been arrested by the police and is being questioned. The boy complained of stomach pain after he was brought in, Dr Dilip Chaudhary, a surgeon, said. His health is now fine, the doctor said. The police and the officials of the education department launched their investigations as soon as they got information about the incident. A similar incident was reported in the state a few days ago.
