Another madrassa demolished in Assam, 4th in last few weeks 

New Delhi, September 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):Another madrassa has been demolished in the Indian state of Assam, the fourth such institution to be bulldozed in the last few weeks. The locals, mostly members of Hindutva organizations, razed to the ground the madrasa located in Pakhiura Char area in the Goalpara district of Assam and a residence adjacent to it. Earlier, the Indian police arrested the imam of the madrasa Jalal Uddin Sheikh along with two other persons Amin ul Islam and Jahangir Alam.

It is to mention here that this is the fourth madrassa demolished in the north-eastern Indian state in over a month’s period. Earlier on August 04, the Jamiul Huda Madrasa in Moirabari area of the Assam’s Morigaon district was razed down. On August 30, the authorities in Assam bulldozed the madrassa, Shaikh ul Hind Mahmud ul Hasan Jamiul Huda Islamic Academy in Dhakalipara area in Barpeta district. On August 31, the authorities demolished madrassa Markaz ul Ma’arif Qurania Madrasa in the Bongaigaon district.
