Lahore, April 05, 2023 (PPI-OT):A special meeting was held in the Chief Minister’s office under the chairmanship of caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi. In which measures related to prison reforms and provision of basic facilities to prisoners were reviewed. On the instructions of Mohsin Naqvi, treatment of prisoners suffering from kidney and liver diseases was conducted.
The prisons department signed an agreement with PKLI for this. Mohsen Naqvi directed to prepare the design of the modern tower type prison. The new prisons will be equipped with the latest facilities and security equipment. On the special instructions of Mohsin Naqvi, a principal decision was made to conduct more training courses for prisoners in 10 prisons.
On the instructions of Mohsin Naqvi, the duration of conversation with the families of prisoners was increased from 20 minutes to 35 minutes. For foreign prisoners. A review was conducted to formulate the procedure for international call facility. 2 to 3 months reduction/relief will be given to prisoners on completion of religious education, technical education and degree.
