Anganwadi workers demand release of pending salary, raise in honorarium

Jammu, October 09, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Anganwadi Workers Welfare Association (AWWA) has demanded release of pending salary and enhancement in their honorarium. While addressing a press conference, here today, Biodiversity Management Committee (BMC) Organizing Secretary, Ashok Chaudhry addressing a news conference in Jammu also threatened to start agitation if no positive action is taken on their issues.

He said Anganwadi Workers and Helpers are being paid Rs 600 and Rs 300 per month, respectively with no increase since the year 2010. He said the honorarium from April 2022 till date has not been released. The Association also demanded extra allowances for doing work of different numbers of schemes, retirement benefits and social security schemes for Anganwadi Workers/Helpers.
