Islamabad, December 15, 2021 (PPI-OT):American think-tank Atlantic Council has drawn world attention toward impending humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, calling for urgent steps to avert it. In a research article, the think-tank said that the United Nations, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the donor community have been warning of the humanitarian catastrophe.
The article said international community is gearing up to provide humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan. The think-tank said that ordinary Afghans deserve access to their own funds, now frozen in banks wary of US. The former US ambassadors and military generals urged the United States and other international donors to help the Afghan people.
