Ambassador Tirmizi Highlights Deep Pakistan-UAE Ties at Dubai University


Dubai: Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s Envoy to the UAE, engaged with students at the British University in Dubai, underscoring the enduring relationship between Pakistan and the UAE. Tirmizi was received by Vice Chancellor Professor Abdullah Alshamsi and faculty members during his visit.



In his lecture, Ambassador Tirmizi detailed the historical and strategic connections between the two nations, emphasizing Pakistan’s cultural heritage. He traced the country’s roots back to ancient civilizations, including the Indus Valley and Gandhara.



Highlighting Pakistan’s diverse geography, Tirmizi noted its significant mountain ranges, home to five of the world’s highest peaks. He also remarked on the potential of Pakistan’s young population, with 68% under the age of 30.



The Ambassador celebrated the over 70-year friendship between Pakistan and the UAE, based on shared values and mutual support. He paid homage to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan for his visionary leadership, recalling his 1966 visit to Pakistan.



Tirmizi highlighted Pakistan’s early recognition of the UAE and its contributions to sectors such as banking and agriculture. He pointed out the robust economic ties, with bilateral trade surpassing USD 10 billion and a strong Pakistani diaspora in the UAE.



Recent high-level visits and Memorandums of Understanding have further solidified cooperation. Concluding his address, Tirmizi encouraged students to explore Pakistan’s natural and cultural richness.
