Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh Presents Credentials to President Biden, Reinforcing U.S.-Pakistan Ties


Washington D.C: Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, the newly appointed 30th Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, presented his credentials to President Joseph R. Biden Jr. today in a ceremony at Blair House. The event underscored the enduring partnership between the two nations, with both leaders emphasizing the importance of their alliance for regional stability and global security. President Biden affirmed the United States’ commitment to stand with Pakistan in addressing significant global and regional challenges, while Ambassador Sheikh highlighted the critical role of economic cooperation and the potential for increased U.S. investments in Pakistan.



According to Press Information Department, the credentials presentation ceremony was attended by members of the diplomatic community and senior U.S. officials. Ambassador Sheikh conveyed greetings from Pakistan’s leadership and emphasized the long history of cooperation between the two countries. He noted the United States as the largest destination for Pakistani exports and expressed eagerness to enhance trade and investment ties, particularly in sectors like alternative energy, green technology, industry, digital platforms, and higher education.



President Biden welcomed Ambassador Sheikh’s tenure as a continuity of the 75-year friendship between the United States and Pakistan. He highlighted the critical role of the partnership in ensuring security and addressing challenges such as climate change, regional security threats, and global health security. Biden expressed appreciation for the cooperation on counterterrorism and the shared interest in strengthening bilateral relations.



The discussions also touched on the importance of structured dialogues and the significant contributions of the Pakistani diaspora in the U.S., which Ambassador Sheikh described as a bridge between the two nations. Both leaders expressed a commitment to advancing a common agenda that promotes security, economic growth, and mutual prosperity under the U.S.-Pakistan ‘Green Alliance’ framework.
