Islamabad: The Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, H.E. Wada Mitsuhiro, held a farewell meeting at the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), where discussions highlighted his significant contributions to strengthening economic ties between Japan and Pakistan. The meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s Office, was attended by key officials including the Secretary of SIFC Division, Jamil Qureshi, and other dignitaries.
According to Press Information Department, Secretary Jamil Qureshi acknowledged Ambassador Wada’s efforts in fostering economic collaboration and investment opportunities during his tenure. The event, attended by Mr. Kawamura Kenta, Economic and Development Counsellor, Mr. Hashimoto Hiroshi, First Secretary of the Embassy, and the Investment Promotion team of SIFC, underscored Ambassador Wada’s role in promoting bilateral trade and investment. His initiatives facilitated Japanese investments in Pakistan’s key sectors and advanced joint ventures, reinforcing economic ties between the two nations.
In his remarks, Secretary Jamil Qureshi expressed gratitude on behalf of SIFC and the Government of Pakistan for Ambassador Wada’s dedication to enhancing Pakistan-Japan relations. He praised the ambassador’s commitment to advancing bilateral trade, mutual investment, and cooperation in technology and development initiatives. Ambassador Wada, in turn, appreciated SIFC’s efforts to improve the business environment in Pakistan and acknowledged the facilitation extended to new and existing Japanese investments in the country.
