Islamabad, September 26, 2023 (PPI-OT): Ambassador-at-Large on Japanese Investment Chaudhary Asif Mahmood called on Ambassador ® Farukh Amil, Chair, IPO. Whilst discussing investment opportunities in Pakistan, the Chair highlighted the importance of building up IP awareness and capacities with Japanese assistance in Pakistan. He outlined that through WIPO, training and capacity building was already being undertaken in Japan.
However, this modest interaction needed to be turbo-charged at the bilateral level given the fact Japan is a global powerhouse in innovation, design and business. Ch. Asif promised he would advocate for strengthened Pakistan-Japan partnerships in IP since it would definitely help start-ups and the youth in Pakistan. The Chair stressed that an IP respecting society in Pakistan would definitely attract Japanese Investment.
