Almaty Hosts Exclusive Screening of UNESCO’s International Youth Festival Gala Concert

Almaty, The Kazakhstan National Federation of Clubs for UNESCO organized an exclusive screening of the Gala Concert of the International Youth Festival “The Planet of ART 2023” on November 29th. This special event brought together over 100 guests, including past festival laureates, representatives from the private and government sectors, media, and heads of Clubs for UNESCO in Kazakhstan.

According to United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, the gala concert, originally held in June in Astana, Kazakhstan, showcased a blend of world musical culture and the creativity of local composers. The event was centered around the theme “Let’s verify hearts” and aimed to resonate with young people through the promotion of contemporary art.

The concert marked a significant moment in the festival’s history, as it was the first time that UNESCO’s Director-General Ms. Audrey Azoulay attended as an honorary guest. The festival is traditionally held under the patronage of UNESCO and supported by the National Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan for UNESCO and ICESCO.

Featuring 42 talented laureates aged 12-18 years from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Russia, and Uzbekistan, the festival highlighted the artistic prowess of these young individuals. Selected from over five thousand applicants, their performances at the “The Planet of ART 2023” festival left a lasting impression on the audience, demonstrating a high level of skill and artistry.

The organizers believe that the closed screening provided not just an opportunity for attendees to view the performances but also facilitated a deep and inspiring engagement with world musical culture. This event is seen as a crucial development in the life of the “The Planet of ART” project, elevating it to a new level of cultural significance.

The video version of the “The Planet of ART 2023” gala concert is now available for public viewing on the YouTube channel of the Kazakhstan National Federation of Clubs for UNESCO, making it accessible to a global audience. This initiative aligns with UNESCO’s mission to promote cultural exchange and understanding through the arts.
