Srinagar, February 13, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the 113th death anniversary of Hazrat Allama Rasool Shah (RA), a great religious and spiritual leader of the territory and the founder of Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam, was observed with devotion and respect.
An important scholarly event was organised by the Anjuman while its president Mirwaiz Umar Farooq could not attend the event due to his illegal detention by the authorities since August 5, 2019. The function was presided over by the Anjuman General Secretary, Al-Haj Muhammad Altaf, while a large number of staff, teachers and students of the institution participated in the event while maintaining social distancing keeping in view the Covid SOPs.
On the occasion, the Anjuman General Secretary, Principal of Islamia Oriental College, Mufti Ghulam Rasool Samoon, Editor of Nusrat-ul-Islam, MS Rehman Shams and other teachers and students addressed the gathering.
Paying homage to Allama Rasool Shah (RA) in wonderful words for his valuable religious, scholarly, reformative, dawah and social services, the speakers said the late Allama’s contribution for the liberation of the Kashmiri people from ignorance, poverty and oppression is a bright chapter in the modern history of Kashmir.
The speakers said that by laying the foundation of the Anjuman, the late Allama (RA) started a campaign of educational awareness by lighting a lamp in the darkness of Kashmir and today we are witnessing the glorious results of that struggle against ignorance. The speakers said that like in the past, the Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam is still engaged in educating the children of the poor and backward classes and making them aware of their rights.
On the occasion, a blessed and enlightening gathering of Qur’an recitation was organised by the Islamia Oriental College for the elevation of the status of the late Allama (RA) in Jannah. Special prayers were also offered in favour of Allama Rasool Shah (RA) and all his comrades and all the former presidents, teachers, members and devotees of the Anjuman.
