Prayagraj: The Allahabad High Court has concluded hearings and reserved its verdict on a recall application filed by the Muslim side in the ongoing Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Eidgah dispute in Mathura. The application challenges a January 11 order that called for the consolidation of all related lawsuits.
According to Kashmir Media Service, during the proceedings, senior advocate Tasneem Ahmadi, representing the Muslim litigants, argued that the consolidation of the suits would unfairly restrict their ability to contest each case individually. Ahmadi stressed that consolidating the cases at such an early stage, before the framing of issues and collection of evidence, was premature.
On the opposite side, Hari Shanker Jain, representing the Hindu claimants, maintained that case consolidation falls under the court’s jurisdiction, and as such, the parties involved do not have the authority to oppose it.
