Islamabad, January 28, 2022 (PPI-OT):Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain says fissures within the opposition parties and their blunted political strategy have resulted in another demoralizing defeat as it failed to block passage of State Bank of Pakistan Amendment Bill in the Senate.
Briefing media on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s day-long visit in Lahore on Friday, he said on paper, opposition claimed a majority in the upper house yet it was incapable of stalling the SBP bill. Congratulating the nation on the passage of SBP bill, the information minister said PTI proved its majority in the Senate with the passage of the bill saying all opposition parties could not face Imran Khan alone.
On the Prime Minister’s visit to Central Business District and Ravi Urban Development Authority, he said the CBD sprawls across Walton Road to the Walton Airport area and it attracted an investment of over 24 billion rupees so far, adding that it is the first planned commercial project of downtown Lahore comprising high-rise buildings which change the landscape of the historic Lahore.
The Information Minister said the government filed an appeal in the apex court against the LHC verdict on RUDA, saying government is sure to get relief from the Supreme Court by presenting the case in a better way. He said the Ravi city would generate billions of dollars of investment from home and abroad and said the project should complete in time and provide new business opportunities in central Punjab.
