Ali Raza Syed Honored in UK for Contributions to Kashmir Cause

Brussels, In a significant acknowledgment of efforts towards human rights and the Kashmir cause, Ali Raza Syed, Chairman of the Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU), was celebrated in Sheffield, UK, for his recent receipt of a human rights award by a distinguished Pakistani organization. The ceremony, orchestrated by Syed Muhammad Kazmi, a notable figure within the Sheffield community, brought together influential individuals from the Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora, including political and social dignitaries.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the event saw the participation of former Members of the European Parliament, Dr. Sajjad Haider Karim and Shafaq Muhammad, as well as Raja Qurban Hussain, the former Lord Mayor of Sheffield. These attendees, along with others from the community, extended their congratulations and support to Ali Raza Syed for his recognition.

Sajjad Karim praised Ali Raza Syed for his dedication to a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue and for advocating on behalf of the rights of Kashmiris under oppression. Shafaq Muhammad, reflecting on his experience in the European Parliament, acknowledged witnessing Ali Raza Syed’s enduring commitment to the Kashmiri cause. Raja Qurban Hussain also commended Syed’s efforts and expressed his pleasure in participating in the event.

Syed Mohammad Kazmi highlighted Ali Raza Syed’s long-standing activism for Kashmir, tracing it back to his college days, and underscored the importance of recognizing such dedication to the cause. Additional remarks were made by Nily Khan, Anila Aslam, and Muhammad Javed, with Fahim Malik acting as the stage secretary for the occasion.

Ali Raza Syed, taking the opportunity to address the gathering, thanked the organizer and attendees for the honor and reiterated the urgent need for international intervention to halt human rights abuses in Kashmir and to seek a peaceful resolution to the longstanding conflict.
