Muzaffarabad, On the eve of the 76th Foundation Day, Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq, the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), extended his congratulations to the nation. In a heartfelt message, he emphasized the sacrifices made by martyrs in the liberation of the territory and reiterated AJK’s support for the Kashmir freedom movement.
According to a news release by the Kashmir Media Service, Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq commemorated the day by drawing attention to the sacrifices of those who fought for the region’s freedom. He pledged unwavering support to the residents of the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, vowing that the people of AJK will stand by them in their struggle for freedom. He also acknowledged the bravery of Kashmiris who continue to fight for their right to self-determination.
Reminding the nation of the historical context, Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq said, “When our forefathers liberated this region, they were in a state of severe insecurity at that time. At that time, Kashmiris set an eternal example of sacrifices. These sacrifices require us to stand steadfastly with our Kashmiri brothers.” He expressed concern over the current state of affairs in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, describing it as akin to the world’s largest prison due to reported atrocities by Indian forces.
In light of these events, the AJK Prime Minister urged the United Nations to step in, implement its resolutions, and facilitate the Kashmiris’ legitimate right to self-determination. He concluded on an optimistic note, expressing hope that the people of occupied Kashmir will eventually be able to join Pakistan, in line with the aspirations of their ancestors.
