Srinagar, Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister, Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq, expressed his conviction that genuine freedom for Kashmiris will be celebrated once the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) attains liberation from India’s control.
According to a news release by Kashmir Media Service, Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq articulated his sentiments during a ceremony commemorating the 76th foundation day of the AJK government in Muzaffarabad. He emphasized the historical significance of the sacrifices made by previous generations in their pursuit of freedom, asserting that it remains an ongoing duty to protect AJK by adhering to their vision.
Reiterating the desire for IIOJK’s freedom from Indian occupation, the Prime Minister expressed optimism that the day when the people of the occupied region will fulfill their ancestors’ aspiration to integrate with Pakistan is approaching. He advocated for the implementation of the United Nations resolutions as the primary solution to the Kashmir quandary and urged the global community to intervene in settling this longstanding issue in alignment with the Kashmiri populace’s wishes.
Commending the unwavering dedication of the Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders to the freedom cause, Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq extended his appreciation to various leaders, applauding their valor and determination. He also emphasized the Kashmiris’ rejection of India’s moves since 5th August 2019, delineating the subsequent issuance of over 42 lakh domiciles to non-Kashmiri individuals and the controversial industrial policies that affect Kashmiri lands.
The AJK Prime Minister also extended gratitude to Pakistan, recognizing its sustained backing for the Kashmiris’ rightful quest for self-determination. Reflecting on the sacrifices made, he said, “I also pay great tribute to the armed forces of Pakistan who are sacrificing their lives to protect us on the Line of Control”.
Solidifying his stance on global issues, the AJK Prime Minister pronounced solidarity with the Palestinian cause, calling upon the United Nations to take responsibility for resolving the longstanding Palestine issue, noting the organization’s inability to address both the Palestine and Kashmir conflicts.
The event saw the presence of prominent figures such as AJK President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Chaudhry Latif Akbar, Senior Minister Colonel (retd) Waqar Ahmad Noor, and others.
