AJK President Urges UK Kashmiris to Advocate for Kashmir Issue

Islamabad: President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, called on Kashmiris in the United Kingdom to intensify their efforts in advocating for the Kashmir issue, emphasizing the critical role they play in voicing the concerns of Occupied Kashmir at this decisive time.

According to President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, during a meeting with Zahoor Ahmed, a councilor from the City Council of Luton, UK, President Chaudhry highlighted the significant changes enacted by India in Occupied Kashmir since August 5, 2019. He criticized these alterations as attempts to dissolve the Kashmir issue and fully integrate the region into India. He pointed out the urgency for Kashmiris globally, particularly in the UK, to escalate their activities and voice against the atrocities in Occupied Kashmir. He condemned the recent elections conducted by the Modi government as a façade and urged the Kashmiris in Britain to use every platform available, including the British Parliament, to expose the ongoing injustices.

The meeting also saw Councilor Zahoor Ahmed reaffirming the support of UK-based Kashmiris, mentioning resolutions being passed from the British Parliament to local city councils that bolster the Kashmir cause. President Chaudhry expressed his hopes that the robust Kashmiri community in the UK would continue to speak out against the suppression in Occupied Kashmir and other minority oppressions under India’s Hindutva policies.
