AJK President Urges Global Action on Kashmir ‘Black Day’

Muzaffarabad: President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, marking October 27 as ‘Black Day’, delivered a poignant message about the dire situation in Occupied Kashmir. He emphasized the ongoing human rights violations and the suppression of the Kashmiri populace by Indian forces. The president called on the global Kashmiri community to intensify efforts to bring international attention to their plight and urged protests against Indian actions in their respective countries.

According to President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, “Today represents the darkest day in our history as it recalls the moment when India forcibly entered Kashmir, setting off decades of oppression. This illegal occupation has not only stifled the basic human rights of the Kashmiri people but has also led to relentless state terrorism to uphold this unlawful annexation.” President Chaudhry appealed to international bodies and human rights organizations to support Kashmir’s right to self-determination as per the initial promises made by India at the United Nations. He recounted the severe measures adopted by Indian authorities, including the detainment of youths and assaults on women and children. He affirmed the resilience of the Kashmiri people in their long-standing struggle against Indian dominion.

President Chaudhry further highlighted the significant role that the international community should play in addressing the grievances of the Kashmiris, emphasizing the necessity for a peaceful resolution that aligns with the aspirations of the Kashmiri populace. He called for an end to what he described as the ‘impure feet’ of Indian forces on Kashmiri soil, signaling a need for urgent action to halt the atrocities.
