Islamabad: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir President, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, has called on Kashmiris living abroad to bring attention to the Kashmir dispute and ongoing Indian actions in the region. He emphasized the role of the diaspora, particularly those in South Africa, in raising global awareness of the conditions in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Barrister Chaudhry made these remarks during a meeting with Haq Nawaz, President of the Kashmir Society in South Africa. He highlighted the significant changes since August 5, 2019, noting the severe restrictions placed on Kashmiris, who he described as being confined to their homes against their will.
Chaudhry accused Indian forces of targeting Kashmiri youth through staged encounters and false arrests. He urged Kashmiris worldwide to speak out against these actions to provide the international community with what he described as a true portrayal of India’s actions in the region.
The AJK President further alleged that India is involved in international terrorist activities, referencing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s statements in the Canadian Parliament regarding the murder of Canadian citizen Hardeep Singh Najjar. He reiterated the importance of the Kashmiri diaspora, especially in South Africa, in exposing these issues globally.
