AJK President Stresses Need for Unified Stand on Kashmir Dispute


Muzaffarabad: The President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, has called for unity among political leaders to address the ongoing Kashmir dispute effectively.



According to Kashmir Media Service, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry spoke at a reception in Muzaffarabad, honoring the heads of various political parties. He emphasized the urgency of setting aside partisan differences to advocate for the Kashmir cause. “There is a dire need for the top leadership representing different political and religious parties to rise above partisan politics and work together for the freedom movement of Kashmir,” he stated during the event.



The president highlighted the plight of the Hurriyat Conference leaders currently imprisoned in India, underscoring the collective duty to advocate for the oppressed Kashmiri population. He also pointed out the potential role of social media in raising awareness about India’s actions in Kashmir, which he believes violate human rights.



The gathering included notable figures such as AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq, Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar, former Prime Ministers Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan and Sardar Atiq Ahmad Khan, along with other senior political leaders.
