AJK President Credits Overseas Community for International Awareness of Kashmir Issue

Islamabad, President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, emphasized the crucial role of the overseas community in keeping the Kashmir issue prominent on the international stage. In discussions with a visiting delegation of overseas representatives, he highlighted how their efforts have been vital in maintaining global attention on the ongoing conflict and alleged atrocities in Occupied Kashmir, particularly in the context of the upcoming general elections in India.

According to President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the relentless advocacy and activism of the diaspora have been instrumental in exposing the situation in Occupied Kashmir, where he claims the situation is deteriorating. He accused Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi of exploiting the Kashmir issue to garner Hindu support in the impending elections, predicting an intensification of hardships for the people in the region.

The meeting also served as an opportunity for the delegation to extend an invitation to President Chaudhry to visit the United Kingdom, which he accepted, acknowledging the significant support and participation of the UK-based Kashmiri community in past demonstrations and campaigns. He reiterated his commitment to continue advocating for Kashmir at international forums, underscoring the pivotal support of the diaspora in these efforts.
