Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry has pledged to utilize all available resources to continue and complete the mission initiated by Mirwaiz Kashmir, underscoring the Kashmiri struggle for rightful self-determination. This commitment was expressed in a statement marking the death anniversary of Maulana Yusuf Shah, where the President emphasized the necessity for India to seriously consider the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and halt human rights abuses in Occupied Kashmir.
According to Press Information Department – Azad Jammu and Kashmir, President Chaudhry called for a renewal of determination to fulfill the religious, national, and political mission of Maulana Yusuf Shah, a prominent figure in the fight for Kashmir’s freedom. He noted the significance of Mirwaiz Kashmir’s contributions to the movement for Azad-e-Kashmir and lamented that Mirwaiz Kashmir departed with the regret of not seeing the entire state liberated and integrated into Pakistan.
The President hailed Mirwaiz Kashmir Maulana Muhammad Yusuf Shah as a pivotal religious and political leader whose wisdom and steadfastness were crucial during one of the most challenging periods in Jammu and Kashmir’s history. He acknowledged the extensive services of Mirwaiz Kashmir and his family in keeping the Kashmiri people connected to Islam and in advancing their quest for freedom, emphasizing the continued effort to teach unity and solidarity among them.
The statement serves as a call to action for the completion of Mirwaiz Kashmir’s vision and for India to engage constructively with the issue of Kashmiri rights to self-determination, aiming for a peaceful resolution to the longstanding conflict.
