Islamabad: President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, in a key meeting with the Kashmir Council Sweden and Stability Pakistan Overseas Forum, urged Sweden and other Scandinavian countries to exert pressure on India to address the ongoing conflict in Kashmir and halt atrocities in the region.
According to President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the gathering, which included Swedish Parliament Member Anders Tager and representatives from various Kashmiri and Pakistani organizations, focused on the pressing need for international intervention to ensure peace in South Asia through the resolution of the Kashmir issue. President Chaudhry highlighted the severe conditions in Occupied Kashmir, including human rights violations and the denial of basic rights such as permanent residence, education, and employment to the Kashmiri people.
The president condemned India’s actions in Occupied Kashmir, describing them as a violation of international law and urging the global community to hold India accountable. He also referenced claims by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau regarding India’s involvement in global terrorism, underscoring the gravity of the situation. At the meeting, MP Anders Tager assured President Chaudhry of his commitment to raising awareness about the Kashmir issue in Scandinavian circles, emphasizing the importance of international support for Kashmir’s right to self-determination under United Nations resolutions.
