AJK President Calls for Enhanced Efforts in Kashmir Liberation Movement


Mirpur, In a fervent appeal, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), has called for the intensification of the Kashmir liberation movement, highlighting the collective national and moral duty of Kashmiris towards the cause.



According to Kashmir Media Service, Barrister Sultan made these remarks while addressing an Iftar dinner in his native village of Khari Sharif near Mirpur. He underscored the critical need for bolstering the ongoing efforts against Indian occupation and described the role of every Kashmiri in contributing to the success of the liberation movement.



The AJK President acknowledged the support from the people and shared his endeavors to position Azad Jammu Kashmir as a steadfast base camp for the freedom struggle. He detailed his international outreach efforts, including raising awareness about the political and human rights crisis in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) during visits and high-profile meetings. Notably, he referred to a news conference with American Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and a visit from the British High Commissioner to Mirpur as key efforts in garnering global backing for the Kashmiri cause.



Expressing his gratitude towards the residents of Khari, Barrister Sultan vowed to address local issues, with plans to elevate Khari Sharif to a Tehsil status among his priorities. He also highlighted ongoing developmental initiatives in the region, including road construction, and announced a significant grant of Rs 35 million for educational and health projects, approved by AJK Minister Chaudhry Arshad Hussain.



This call to action signifies a pivotal moment in the Kashmir liberation movement, emphasizing the need for increased domestic and international support to challenge Indian occupation and advocate for the rights and freedoms of the Kashmiri people.
