AJK President Calls for Educational Reforms and International Advocacy at University Convocation

Muzaffarabad: President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, emphasized the critical role of education in societal development during his address at the 20th convocation of the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He urged the universities in Azad Kashmir to enhance the quality of education to meet international standards and highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting this initiative.

According to President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the convocation marked a celebration of the achievements of students, including those who received gold medals. President Chaudhry underscored the importance of hard work and dedication from both teachers and students in achieving educational excellence. He also articulated his role in elevating the issue of Kashmir on international platforms, emphasizing the need for students to engage in advocacy through social media, particularly regarding the ongoing issues in Occupied Kashmir.

The President congratulated the graduates on their success, stressing the responsibilities they hold towards contributing to their regions and the nation. He noted the completion of the King Abdullah Campus, aided by the Saudi government, as a significant enhancement to the university’s infrastructure. President Chaudhry also expressed satisfaction with the university’s broad range of degree programs, which include cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

Furthermore, President Chaudhry committed to addressing the financial challenges faced by public sector universities in Azad Kashmir, acknowledging the necessity of governmental support in this regard. He concluded his remarks by reaffirming his dedication to the Kashmir cause and the support for the rights and self-determination of the people in Occupied Kashmir.
