Islamabad, President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, has openly criticized India’s Republic Day celebrations, stating that India has no grounds for celebration due to its alleged acts of terrorism in Occupied Kashmir and other countries.
According to President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry condemned India’s actions in Occupied Kashmir, labeling them as terrorism and a violation of United Nations resolutions and international treaties. He accused the Indian government, particularly under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, of adopting Hindutva policies, transforming India into a “neo-demographic fascist state” with expansionist ambitions. These actions, he claimed, pose a significant threat to the peace and security of not only neighboring countries but the entire world.
Chaudhry further alleged that India forcibly annexed and divided Occupied Kashmir, disregarding the will of the Kashmiri people. He claimed that in Occupied Kashmir, young people are being arrested and subjected to severe torture in detention camps, women are facing desecration, and rape is being used as a weapon of war. He also accused India of implementing a military siege in Occupied Kashmir, selling land to rich Indian industrialists, and forcing Muslim migration to alter the demographic majority of the region.
The AJK President also touched upon the situation of Muslims in India, stating that they have been an integral part of the country for centuries and cannot be expelled. He accused the Indian government of attempting to render Muslims in Occupied Kashmir and India stateless, to establish a high-caste Hindu state.
Chaudhry brought up the killing of Canada-based Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nagar last year, attributing it to the Indian government and its intelligence agency. He argued that this event, among others, has exposed the alleged oppressive and terrorist nature of the Indian state.
Concluding his statement, President Chaudhry called on the international community to take immediate notice of India’s actions and to intervene to stop what he describes as terrorist policies.
