AJK President Asserts Kashmir Solidarity Day Embodies Pakistan-Kashmir Bonds


Islamabad, On the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), underscored the deep-rooted connections between the people of Pakistan and Kashmir, marking the day as a significant annual observance on February 5. This day serves to acknowledge the religious, cultural, and social ties that bind Pakistanis and Kashmiris together in solidarity.



According to Kashmir Media Service, Barrister Sultan’s message highlighted the critical situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir, where severe human rights violations by Indian occupation forces continue unabated. He called on the international community to take cognizance of these abuses and to contribute towards finding a resolution to the Kashmir dispute that is in line with United Nations resolutions.



The AJK President pointed out that despite the oppressive measures by Indian forces, the spirit of the Kashmiri people in their quest for freedom remains unbroken. They continue to show remarkable courage and determination in the face of adversity. He emphasized that the path to resolving the Kashmir issue involves negotiations that are serious and in accordance with the mandates set by the UN, ensuring that any solution reflects the true aspirations of the Kashmiri people and adheres to international resolutions.



In his concluding remarks, President Chaudhry directly addressed the Indian government, urging it not to hinder the Kashmiris’ fundamental right to self-determination. He advocated for India to engage in meaningful dialogue, respecting the essence of international agreements and the United Nations’ directives, to bring about a peaceful resolution to the longstanding issue.



The statements made by the AJK President on Kashmir Solidarity Day reflect the enduring solidarity between Pakistan and Kashmir, highlighting a collective call for justice and the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with international standards and the will of the Kashmiri people.
