Aisha Pasha briefed on steps for controlling population growth 

Islamabad, June 03, 2022 (PPI-OT):Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Dr Aisha Ghous Pasha held a meeting with Pakistan Country Director from Population Council Zeba Sathar and Senior Economist from World Bank Group Dr Hanid Mukhtar in Islamabad on Friday.

The delegation briefed the Minister of State for Finance and Revenue about the issues being faced to controlling population growth in the country. With significantly high population growth of 2.4 percent, investing in sustainable population growth has become imperative for the government.

Meanwhile, Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Dr Aisha Ghous Pasha held a meeting with a delegation of UN Women headed by Country Representative Sharmeela Rasool in Islamabad on Friday. Asian Capital Market Expert Nobuyuka Imamura and other senior officers from Finance Division attended the meeting.

The delegate gave a brief overview of the 5-year plan of UN Women in Pakistan. It was shared that UN Women is working on multiple levels for promoting gender equality through women empowerment in all segments of society in Pakistan.
