Islamabad: On July 3, 2024, a delegation from Air University, led by Vice Chancellor Air Marshal (R) Moeed Khan, visited the National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) at the headquarters of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The visit aimed to enhance collaboration on disaster management education and research.
According to National Disaster Management Authority announcement issued on 03 July 2024, the NDMA team presented a detailed briefing on NEOC’s operational capabilities, which include early warnings, anticipatory actions, and strategies for managing risk knowledge. The visit also included the signing of a Letter of Understanding (LoU) between NDMA’s think tank, the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM), and Air University. This agreement focuses on sharing risk knowledge and conducting research on disaster management-related subjects.
The delegation from Air University praised NDMA’s proactive and innovative approach to disaster management. This partnership is expected to bolster disaster preparedness and response strategies through academic contributions and practical applications in the field.
