Ahsan Orders Swift Allocation of Chinese Farm Equipment

Islamabad: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has instructed the prompt and efficient distribution of Chinese-donated agricultural machinery to provinces. During a meeting focused on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Iqbal emphasized that provincial departments should allocate the machinery to grassroots levels within ten days.

The meeting highlighted that the donation comprises forty tractors, forty multipurpose harvesters, and additional equipment. This machinery aims to boost the capabilities of agricultural research institutions and farming communities, contributing to Pakistan’s food security and economic growth.

Additionally, Iqbal called on the Power Division, Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO), and the Ministry of Maritime Affairs to expedite the completion of a transmission line to the Gwadar south free zone. This infrastructure is required to operationalize a 1.2 million gallons per day desalination plant at the earliest possible time.
