ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, has articulated a strong interest in fostering joint collaboration with Bahrain across several sectors, including agriculture, information technology, and fishing. Speaking at a Pak-Bahrain conference held in Islamabad, Iqbal emphasized the importance of expanding these cooperative efforts as a means to bolster Pakistan’s economy.
The Minister announced the establishment of a National Centre for Brand Development, designed to assist small and medium enterprises in promoting domestic products on a global scale. He underscored the significance of increasing the country’s export volume, highlighting exports as a crucial component in maintaining economic growth and securing revenue streams in foreign currency to mitigate the current account deficit.
Addressing the business community, Iqbal called on entrepreneurs to enhance the quality of their products to better compete in international markets. By doing so, he believes Pakistan can capture a larger share of global commerce, thus contributing to the nation’s economic resilience.
