Islamabad: In a bid to strengthen bilateral ties, Ahsan Iqbal, Pakistan’s Minister for Planning and Development, has emphasized the importance of fostering people-to-people and media exchanges with China. This call was made during a meeting with a Chinese delegation in Islamabad.
The discussion centered on preparations for the upcoming 14th Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) meeting scheduled for July, and explored new avenues for collaboration in media, arts, and culture. The Chinese delegation was led by Mr. Hu Zhaoming, Spokesperson of the International Department of the Communist Party of China.
Minister Iqbal highlighted the need for nurturing critical thinking and innovation among Pakistani youth, drawing parallels with China’s success in aligning public confidence with national goals. He noted that the JCC meeting would be a significant milestone in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiatives.
The meeting also focused on bridging cultural and information gaps between the two nations. Attaullah Tarar, Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting, proposed a digital exchange program for journalists and influencers from both countries to foster mutual understanding and address misconceptions about CPEC.
Both nations expressed a shared commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation through dialogue, creativity, and public engagement.
