Islamabad: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has expressed support for establishing fully empowered local governments, highlighting their potential to foster new leadership. Speaking at the National Debate on Administrative Restructuring of Pakistan in Islamabad, Iqbal emphasized the necessity of national consensus on this issue.

According to Radio Pakistan, Iqbal stressed that local governments could serve as a crucial platform for leadership development. Minister for National Health Services Mustafa Kamal also highlighted the importance of devolving power to the grassroots level, underscoring a collaborative approach in the administrative restructuring process.
