ISLAMABAD: Minister for Economic Affairs and Establishment Division Ahad Cheema emphasized the importance of achieving financial viability for the National Highway Authority (NHA) as a key priority during a meeting in the capital.
According to Radio Pakistan, Ahad Cheema highlighted the necessity for a practical business plan for the NHA, which should include clear timelines and an assessment of its capacity. The Minister underscored that projects should be prioritized based on their commercial, economic, and social viability to enhance the NHA’s financial sustainability and help it avoid an unsustainable debt-servicing burden.
Cheema also noted that projects lacking commercial viability should be subjected to thorough studies and reviews before any decisions are made.
