NAROWAL: The federal government’s ongoing agriculture census is expected to significantly boost crop yields per acre, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal announced today. Speaking at an event in Narowal, the minister emphasized the role of the census in advancing agricultural planning and incorporating modern technology to achieve the Greener Pakistan project.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ahsan Iqbal underscored the importance of accurate data collection for informed policymaking in the agricultural sector. He noted that over 60 percent of Pakistan’s population is connected to agriculture, either directly or indirectly. The minister urged the field force to diligently gather precise data, describing the census as a vital step in the country’s development.
Highlighting the Prime Minister’s vision to modernize agriculture over the next five years, Iqbal pointed out that the collection of agriculture statistics will offer a comprehensive understanding of the challenges farmers face. He stressed the need for adopting modern trends across all sectors to enhance productivity and drive progress in Pakistan’s agriculture industry.
