Agricultural Reforms Underway in Balochistan as Provincial Minister Visits Extension Office

Quetta, Haji Ali Madad Jatak, Balochistan’s Provincial Minister of Agriculture, conducted a comprehensive review of operations at the Agriculture Extension Office. During his visit, the Minister was briefed by the Director General of Agricultural Extension, Nadeem Arshad, about the strategic goals and ongoing projects within the sector.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Minister Jatak emphasized the critical importance of the agriculture department over others, urging all officers to enhance departmental performance through cooperation. Highlighting issues of discipline and attendance, he warned that no tolerance would be shown towards absentee Grade IV employees, announcing secretive raids to ensure compliance and productivity within the department.

Minister Jatak also discussed several key initiatives aimed at boosting the agricultural sector in the region, including the Green Pakistan project, which he believes will revolutionize farming in Balochistan. The province is working on increasing the production of economically vital crops such as pistachios, dates, pulses, olives, and particularly cotton, which are expected to significantly contribute to both government revenue and the reduction of unemployment.
