Srinagar: In a significant move to promote communal harmony, senior APHC leader Agha Syed Hassan Al Moosvi Al Safvi has called for unity between the Shia and Sunni communities in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, Agha Hassan addressed prominent Shia and Sunni religious scholars at a gathering convened by the Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulama and the IIOJK Muslim Personal Law Board. He warned against the dangers of sectarian rhetoric, emphasizing that individuals who engage in fomenting sectarianism would be blacklisted and face strict consequences.
Agha Hassan highlighted that such divisive actions undermine the unity upheld by respected Islamic leaders such as Ayatollah Agha Syed Mahdi and Ayatollah Agha Syed Yousuf. “The Agha family has consistently worked to preserve Islamic brotherhood and foster peace among communities,” he stated, reaffirming the importance of solidarity.
The gathering concluded with a collective pledge to reject sectarianism and promote mutual understanding. Leaders emphasized that Islam stands firmly against hatred and division, reiterating their commitment to maintaining Muslim unity in the face of forces seeking to destabilize the community.
